What Makes The Nissan GTR Special?

Nissan GTR Rupert, WV

The Nissan GTR has marvelous technology. Everyone admires the incredible detail that goes into every model of the GTR. It became popular due to these features:

The Takumi Hand-Built Engine

At the heart of the Nissan GTR is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine known as the VR38DETT. What makes it special is how it is built.

Each engine is assembled manually from start to finish. This is done by one single master craftsman, known as a "Takumi."

There are only five Takumi in the world who are qualified to build these engines. All legitimate GTRs have a signature plaque from a Takumi. You can check our new specials or our used specials.

The ATTESA E-TS All-Wheel Drive System

The ATTESA E-TS is an advanced AWD system of the Nissan GTR. It is based on a rear-wheel-drive platform to make it sporty. By default, the system sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels.

The moment the car needs more grip, it automatically sends up to 50% of the power to the front wheels. This is how the Nissan GTR maintains its outstanding traction when accelerating. You should maintain it regularly to maintain its outstanding grip.

The Independent Rear Transaxle AWD

The Nissan GTR uses a different approach to balance the weight. Engineers placed the car's transmission and transfer case at the rear of the car, not in front of the engine.

This was the first time this layout was ever used in an AWD vehicle. This is how the GTS maintains its excellent stability and handling even during spirited driving.

The Video Game On-Board Display

The multifunction display in the dashboard of the GTR was designed with Polyphony Digital. It is the same company that created the famous Gran Turismo® racing video games.

You can choose from 11 different customizable screens. These screens show essential performance data, like turbo boost, G-forces, and fluid temperatures.

These engineering feats—a hand-built engine, an intelligent AWD system, a balanced transaxle, and a detailed data display—are what make the Nissan GTR a true legend. This level of detail is impressive.
